We’re happy to welcome back Marie-Laure from La Maison De LouLou, the fun packed blog with lots of activities, crafts and colour.

Spring is here so we thought what better way to celebrate than with some floral blooms, all handcrafted and ready to arrange and display in your little one’s room or even give as a thoughtful gift!

YOU WILL NEED:

  1. Origami coloured paper (standard square size)

  2. Hole punch

  3. Scissors

  4. BBQ sticks

  5. Glue gun / glue

  6. Paint + paintbrush

  7. Coloured craft pom poms

HOW TO:

STEP 1

Have all your supplies ready to work with.

STEP 2 (Refer to the numbered picture below)

Paper Flowers-2

From 1 to 3:

Start with a rectangle; fold it once in half and then in half again. You are now at stage 3.

From 4 to 6:

Take a corner and fold it to make a square. Now cut the left rectangle off (number 4 to 5). Then cut a half circle and you should have an ice cream cone shape (number 6). Open your flower now and make a hole at the center.

Well done! Put that to one side for now.

STEP 4

Using another colour, restart the folding process again and make a smaller rectangle. When you get to stage 3, cut into your ice cream shape to make a different shape (see picture); then open.

STEP 5:

Now make your your leaves. Cut out some leaf shapes from your paper; vaguely please, flowers are not perfect! Them at the bottom make a hole. Fold your leaf at the centre, and that’s it!

STEP 7

Paint your BBQ sticks and let them dry.

STEP 8

Now it’s time to put everything together.

Paper Flowers-6

Take one stick and put your leaves on first, then your petal and then your pistil.

Paper Flowers-9

With your glue gun, glue all these elements together. Then glue your pom-pom to the centre of your paper flower. That is it, your flower has bloomed!

Repeat that operation as many times as you want.
